ATF, Checking Level and Correcting

‹› The ATF level is checked at the ATF inspection plug.

‹› The ATF level is correct if a small amount of fluid drips out of the inspection opening (this is normal as the fluid expands as it heats up) at an ATF

temperature between 35 and 45 °C (for hot countries 50 °C). 

CAUTION!
There is a risk of damaging the transmission.

‹› Only use the ATF available as a replacement part for the automatic transmission 0B6. 

‹› Other fluids can cause malfunctions or transmission failure.

‹› Follow the allocation.

‹› The ATF filler tool must be clean and the ATF must not be mixed with any other fluids!

Fill the reservoir of the ATF filler tool (VAG 1924) with ATF for automatic transmission 0B6.

Secure reservoir of ATF filling system (VAG 1924 ) as high as possible on vehicle.

CAUTION!
There is a risk of damaging the transmission.

‹› Engine must not be started if only a small amount or no ATF is in the transmission after repair work or after significant ATF loss.

‹› In this case, pre-filling is necessary. Refer to => [ ATF, Draining Or Filling after Repair ] See: ATF, Draining or Filling after Repair.

Remove the rear noise insulation. Refer to - 2 - => Body Exterior 66 Description and Operation.
