Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

‹› Engine/Transmission Jack (V.A.G 1383 A)

‹› Tensioning Strap (T10038)

‹› Wheel Hub Support (T10149)

Removing

-

Remove wheels.

-

Remove noise insulation.

-

Remove left and right wheel housing liner.

-

Remove crossbrace. Refer to => [ Subframe Crossbrace ] See: Subframe Crossbrace.

Remove right and left subframe shield if applicable. Refer to => [ Subframe Shield ] See: Subframe Shield.

Remove stabilizer. Refer to => [ Stabilizer Bar ] See: Stabilizer Bar/Service and Repair/Front Suspension/Stabilizer Bar.

Steering gear, removing. Refer to => [ Power Steering Gear ] See: Steering/Steering Gear/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Power
Steering Gear.

Remove level control system sensor, if applicable. Refer to => [ Level Control System Sensor ] See: Sensors and Switches -
Suspension/Suspension Control Pressure Sensor/Switch/Service and Repair/Front Suspension/Level Control System Sensor.

Secure the left and right wheel housing liner to the mounting bracket using a Tensioning Strap (T10038) as illustrated.

Remove left and right control arms. Refer to => [ Track Control Arm ] See: Control Arm/Service and Repair/Front Suspension/Track Control Arm

Support the engine entirely using the Engine Support Bridge.

Remove bolts - 1 - and nuts - 3 - and the longitudinal braces - 2 -.
