Place Used Oil Collection and Extraction Device ( V.A.G 1782) under transmission.

Install the threaded eye from the Counterhold Tool (3419) in a threaded hole on the right flange shaft with two M10 nuts - 1 -.

Position the Multipurpose Tool (VW 771) with the (VW 771/13) on the threaded eye and remove the flange shaft.
Installing
Install in reverse order, paying attention to the following:
‹› Replace the right flange shaft circlip.

Clamp flange shaft in vise, using jaw protectors. Press circlip with new circlip - A - out of flanged shaft groove.

Fill area between sealing lip and dust lip halfway with Sealing Grease (G 052 128 A1).

Drive the right flange shaft in using the Needle Bearing Drift (VW 295).
