‹› When parking lock is engaged, it must not be possible to turn both front wheels in one direction at the same time.

Press the selector shaft lever forward three detents so the transmission is in the "D" position.

Check if the selector lever in the vehicle is also in the " D" position.

Carefully press the selector lever cable ball socket - 1  - in this position onto the selector shaft lever.

‹› Take care not to bend selector shaft lever when pressing it on; support it if necessary, otherwise shift mechanism can no longer be adjusted

properly.

Secure the selector lever cable using a retaining clip -  2 -.

‹› Do not bend or kink the selector lever cable.

Check and adjust selector lever cable. Refer to => [ Selector Lever Cable, Adjusting ] See: Shifter A/T/Adjustments.

Check shift mechanism. Refer to => [ Selector Mechanism, Checking ] See: Shifter A/T/Testing and Inspection/Scan Tool Testing and Procedures.
