Press the driveshaft together with rear final drive; the universal joint is able to slide axially.

Lay the driveshaft down onto the cross member.

CAUTION!
Danger of damaging the coupling element inside the front muffler. 

‹› Do not bend the coupling elements in the front muffler more than 10 degrees.

Loosen the clamping sleeves - 1 - and - 2  -, slide them to the back and tie up the front muffler to the side.

Mount the gearbox support (T10337) on the engine and transmission jack (VAG 1383 A) and attach it to the bottom of the transmission.
