Affected Vehicle

91 Rearview camera screen display flickers or goes blank

Condition

The MMI screen flickers or completely goes blank when the rearview camera is in operation.

Technical Background

Bad contact at the aerial cable connector of the Front Information Display Control Head Control Module J523.

Production Solution

Wiring harness was optimized.

Service

1. Check for a bad connection by wiggling the aerial connector of Front Information Display Control Head Control Module J523.

2. If a bad connection is verified, the aerial cable between the rearview camera system control module J722 and J523 must be replaced. The original

harness may remain in the vehicle.

3. Cut off the connectors on both ends. Tape the connectors back to the harness.
