Communications Control Module: Service and Repair

Data Bus On Board Diagnostic Interface J533, Removing And Installing 

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Protective Cap For Cable Connector VAS6223/9 from Fiber Optic Plier Repair Set VAS6223

Removing 

-

If control module is replaced, select corresponding control module in "Guided Functions".

CAUTION:
-

Switch off all electrical consumers.

-

Switch ignition off and remove ignition key. 

-

Remove drivers side upper instrument panel cover.

-

Remove screw - 2 - and remove Data Bus On Board Diagnostic Interface J533 - item 1 - from bracket - arrow -.

-

Disconnect fiber optic connector - 4 -.

-

Release securing bracket and disconnect electrical connector - 3 -.

-

Seal open fiber optic cable connector - 2 - using Protective Cap For Cable Connector VAS6223/9 - item 1 -.

NOTE:  Protective cap prevents contamination of or mechanical damage to end face of fiber optic cable which would impair signal transmission.
