Gas-Filled Strut, Rear Lid

Gas strut

‹› To remove, open and support rear lid.

‹› Using screwdriver, lift retaining spring - 2 - as shown and remove gas-filled strut - 1 - from upper ball stud -  3 -.

‹› After completely removing gas-filled strut, ensure correct position when installing.

‹› Sound insulation component must be installed on the body side.

Installation is reverse of removal, noting the following:

To install, press gas-filled strut onto ball head pins so that it engages in position.

Ball stud tightening torque 20 Nm

‹› To remove, pull gas-filled strut off with small screwdriver.
