Front Subframe Mount: Service and Repair

Subframe Bonded Rubber Bushing

‹› Bracket with spindle and hook (10 - 222 A /10)

‹› Adapter (10 - 222 A /19)

‹› Engine Sling (2024 A)

‹› Engine-/transmission jack (V.A.G 1383 A)

‹› Engine Support (T10014) (only needed with 3.0L TDI)

‹› Adapter (10 - 222 A /22)

‹› Engine Support Basic Set (T40091)

‹› Engine Support Supplement Set (T40093)

‹› Hose clamps up to dia. 25 mm (3094)

‹› Hydraulic cylinder (VAS 6178)

Removing

Affects vehicles with air suspension

-

Place vehicle on hoist. Refer to => [ Positioning Vehicle on Hoist and Wheels ] See: Steering and Suspension/Suspension/Service and
Repair/Procedures/Positioning Vehicle on Hoist and Wheels. 

Affects all vehicles

Remove noise insulation. Refer to => Refer to => Radiator Support See: Lock Carrier.

Support engine entirely with engine support bridge.

Support 3.6L FSI engine completely with engine support bridge. Refer to => [ Affects vehicles with 3.6L

FSI engine ] See: Front Subframe/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Subframe.

Support 4.2L FSI engine completely with engine support bridge. Refer to => [ Affects vehicles with 4.2L

FSI engine ] See: Front Subframe/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Subframe.

Support 3.0L TDI engine completely with engine support bridge. Refer to => [ Affects vehicles with 3.0L

TDI engine ] See: Front Subframe/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Subframe.

Check if there is a factory marking (paint dot) on front propshaft and propshaft flange. If not, mark position of propshaft CV joint -  arrow A - to
propshaft flange on front final drive - arrow B - with paint.
