Remove headrest guides. 

-

Remove backrest cover panel. Refer to => [ Backrest Cover Assembly Overview ] See: Description and Operation/Front Manual Seats.

Remove lower retaining strips - 3 -.

-

Remove side retaining strips - 2 -.

-

Pry out upper retaining strip - 1 -.

-

Remove side airbag. Refer to => [ Side Airbags ] See: Restraint Systems/Air Bag Systems/Air Bag/Service and Repair/Removal and
Replacement/Side Airbags.

Remove the bolt - 3 -.

-

Loosen airbag cable retainers - 4 - on backrest frame. 

-

Press airbag - 1 - in - direction of arrow A - upward and disengage airbag from backrest frame. Refer to => [ Front Airbag Igniters, Standard
Power Seat ] See: Restraint Systems/Air Bag Systems/Air Bag/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Side Airbags.

Remove airbag - 1 - from pocket - 2 - and re-engage airbag in backrest frame.

-

Remove upholstery with cover.

Installation

Installation is in reverse order of removal, noting the following: 

-

Replace airbag screw => [ (Item 4) Bolt ] See: Service and Repair/Overhaul/Seats - Upholstery, Covers/Front Seat/Front Seat Cover and Cushion,
Mechanically Adjustable Seat.
