Front Brake Pads, 18" Plus

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

‹› Torque Wrench (V.A.G 1576)

‹› Piston resetting tool (T10145)

‹› When removing, mark brake pads that will be used again. Install in the same position, otherwise braking effect will be uneven!

Removing

-

Remove wheels.

-

Separate connector for brake pad wear indicator.

-

Unclip cable for the brake pad wear display from the spring in the brake caliper.

-

Remove brake hose from its mount on the stub axle carrier.

-

Using pliers, slightly push the brake piston on the installed brake pads.

‹› Do not loosen the brake hose.

-

Loosen brake caliper at the bolts - arrows -.

CAUTION!
Never mount the brake caliper on the adapter plate. The radial bolted multipoint head cap bolt must never be loosened.

Pull brake caliper from brake disc.

-

Hang brake caliper on the body using a suitable wire.
