Heater Core - Rear HVAC Unit Installed

Special tools and equipment

‹› Hose clamps up to dia. 25 mm (3094)

‹› Cooling system tester (V.A.G 1274) (hand pump and corresponding adapter)

Removing

-

Switch off ignition.

-

Release pressure in cooling circuit by opening cap on coolant expansion tank.

-

Bring rear heating & A/C unit into service position => [ Rear Heating and A/C Unit, Service Position ] See: Heating and Air Conditioning/Service
and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Rear Heating and A/C Unit, Service Position

Remove Left Rear Air Flap Motor (V239) => [ Left Rear Air Flap Motor ] See: Heating and Air Conditioning/Air Door/Air Door Actuator /
Motor/Service and Repair/Left Rear Air Flap Motor.

Remove Right Rear Air Flap Motor (V240) => [ Right Rear Air Flap Motor ] See: Heating and Air Conditioning/Air Door/Air Door Actuator /
Motor/Service and Repair/Right Rear Air Flap Motor.

-

Remove bolts - A - and remove upper cover -  B -.

-

Mark both coolant hoses - A - and - B - to rear heater core - C - (risk of interchange).
