Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

‹› Hose clamp pliers (V.A.G 1921)

Removing

‹› When assembled correctly, radiator and condenser can show slight impressions on fins. This is not damage. Radiators or condensers should not be

replaced because of slight impressions like these.

Evacuate A/C system. Refer to => Heating and Air Conditioning See: Heating and Air Conditioning.

Drain coolant => [ Cooling System, Draining and Filling ] See: Service and Repair.

Remove fan shroud => [ Fan Shroud ] See: Fan Shroud/Service and Repair/Fan Shroud.

Remove upper coolant hose - 1 - from radiator.

‹› Ignore - 2 -.

-

Remove upper coolant hose from front coolant pipe - arrow  - and remove coolant pipe.

‹› Ignore - 1 - hose clamps (3093).
