Connect multi meter between terminal - 2 - and -  3 - for resistance measurement.

Fuel level sensor 2 (G169) installed: 

‹› Sensor at lower stop: 760 to 842 ohms.

‹› Sensor at upper stop: 67 to 86 ohms.

‹› If measured value is 0 ohms there is a short circuit. If measured value is infinite ohms there is and open circuit in the wiring.

‹› To check "tank full" or "tank empty" resistance values, the fuel level sensor 2 (G169) must be removed => [ Fuel Level Sensor 2 ] See: Service

and Repair/Fuel Level Sensor 2, and the sensor floater must be placed in upper or lower end position.

‹› With fuel level sensor 2 (G169) removed, the following values are obtained because of the greater deflection of the floater arm:

Fuel level sensor 2 (G169) removed:

‹› Sensor at lower stop: approximately 990 ohms.

‹› Sensor at upper stop: approximately 51 ohms.

Assembly is in reverse order of removal, note the following:

Install locking flange cover.

-

Install tank access carpet frame in floor covering.
