Headlamp Alignment Actuator: Service and Repair
Halogen Headlamps, Servicing

Left Headlamp Beam Adjustment Motor V48 / Right Headlamp Beam Adjustment Motor V49, Removing And Installing 

Removing 

CAUTION:

-

Switch off all electrical consumers.

-

Switch ignition off and remove ignition key. 

-

Turn light switch to "0" position.

-

Remove headlamp.

-

Release locking slide - 2 - in - direction of arrow - and remove housing cover - 1 - from headlamp housing.

-

Turn headlamp height adjustment screw - 1 - clockwise as far as stop.
-

This guides lamp unit in headlamp into "low position".

-

Insert a screwdriver from behind into headlamp housing - arrow A - and press headlamp height adjusting screw up out of housing - arrow B -.

-

Disconnect connector - 1 -.

-

Remove headlamp range adjustment positioning motor - 2 - for left headlamp clockwise - arrow - and for right headlamp counterclockwise.

-

Disengage positioning motor from headlamp housing.

NOTE:  Positioning motor axle should not be disengaged from headlamp
