Variable Induction Control Actuator: Testing and Inspection

Intake Flap Vacuum Actuator, Checking

Only perform test if there were complaints about reduced torque, elasticity or engine power.

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

-

Hand vacuum pump VAS 6213

Work procedure

-

Start engine.

-

Accelerate abruptly and observe linkage on back side of vacuum actuator when doing so.

-

Linkage must move - arrow -.

-

If linkage on vacuum actuator does not move, check the following:
-

Vacuum system for leaks,

-

Change-over mechanism linkage for ease of movement.

-

Vacuum hoses for correct connection,

-

Vacuum hoses for leaks.

-

If no malfunctions are found, remove vacuum hose on vacuum actuator.

-

Connect Hand Vacuum Pump VAS 6213 to vacuum actuator connector - arrow - as shown in illustration.
