Remove bolt - 2 -.

-

Disconnect connectors - 1 - and - 3 -.

CAUTION:  Before disconnecting connector - 4 -, discharge any electrostatic charge from your body by touching an electrically grounded
vehicle component such as the door latch striker pin.

Disconnect connector - 4 -.

-

Press the safety catch - 1 - in direction of - arrow -, until connector - 2 - releases.

-

Carefully pull off steering column switch together with Steering Column Electronic Systems Control Module J527.

Installing 

Install in reverse order, observing the following:

-

Ensure all connectors slide on as far as stop and engage audibly.

-

Insert upper steering column switch trim in lower trim hooks, press both sections together and fasten with screws.

-

Install steering wheel.

-

Install airbag unit.

Tightening torques 

Steering Column Switch Module (SCSM): 3 Nm 
Trim for steering column switch: 0.6 Nm 
Lower trim to steering column: 3 Nm 
Handle trim on mechanical steering column adjustment handle: 4.5 Nm
