‹› Before handling any airbag units (for example, when disconnecting the connector), the person handling them must "discharge static
electricity ". For example, by briefly touching the door striker pin.

Install Side Airbag Crash Sensor - 2 - in reverse order of removal.

When attaching connector - 3 -, ensure it engages correctly with Side Airbag Crash Sensor - 2 -.
‹› Ensure that electrical connections are pushed in as far as stop and engage with a click.
‹› Ensure wires are not pinched.
CAUTION!
Ignition must be on when connecting battery. If pyrotechnic components (for example, airbag, belt tensioner) are not repaired correctly,
they may deploy unintentionally after connecting battery. Maintain personal safety when connecting the battery by staying out of airbag
deployment areas, keeping a distance from belt tensioners/seat belts and ensuring no other people are in the vehicle interior at the
moment when the battery is connected.

Switch on ignition.

Connect battery with ignition on.

If Airbag Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) (K75) indicates a fault after installation, DTC memory must be checked, deleted and checked again.

Driver and Front Passenger Rear Side Airbag Crash Sensors
Rear Side Airbag Crash Sensor (on driver's side) (G256) and Rear Side Airbag Crash Sensor (on front passenger's side) (G257)
Removing
CAUTION!
Follow the safety precautions for pyrotechnic components. Refer to => [ Restraint System Components, Checking ] See: Testing and

Switch the ignition on.

Disconnect the battery ground cable with the ignition switched on.

Remove left or right wheel housing trim from C-pillar. Refer to => [ Wheel Housing Trim Component Overview ] See: Body and Frame/Interior
Moulding / Trim/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Wheel Housing Trim.
