Turn Signal Switch: Service and Repair

Turn Signal Switch E2, removing and installing 

Removing 

-

Remove Steering Column Switch Module (SCSM).

NOTE:  Steering must be in center position (wheels in straight ahead position) when removing and installing return spring with slip ring.

-

Carefully release catches - arrows -.

-

Remove airbag spring/spiral spring with slip ring - 2 - with Steering Angle Sensor G85 - item 1 - from Steering Column Switch Module (SCSM).

-

Remove screws - arrows -.

-

Pull Steering Column Electronic Systems Control Module J527 - item 2 - and Windshield Wiper/Washer Switch E22 - item 3 - from steering
column switch module.

-

Disengage Cruise Control Switch E45 - item 1 - at steering column switch module.

-

Remove bolt - 5 - and remove retaining clip - 4 -.

Installing 

Install in reverse order, observing the following:

-

Make sure all fasteners and electrical connectors are properly engaged.

-

Install Steering Column Switch Module (SCSM).

Tightening torques 

Steering Column Switch Module (SCSM) to Steering Column Electronic Systems Control Module J527: 0.65 Nm 

Windshield Wiper/Washer Switch E22 to Steering Column Electronic Systems Control Module J527: 0.65 Nm 

Cruise Control Switch E45 to steering column switch module and Steering Column Electronic Systems Control Module J527: 0.65 Nm
