Drivers Side Airbag Crash Sensor G179 And Front Passengers Side Airbag Crash Sensor G180, Removing And Installing

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System VAS 5051 B

Removing

CAUTION:  Observe safety precautions for work on airbags.

-

Switch off ignition.

-

Disconnect battery ground wire.

-

Remove left or right sill panel strip.

CAUTION:  Before handling airbag units (e.g. disconnecting electrical connector), the person handling it must "electrostatically
discharge". This can be done by touching door striker, for example.

Release connector - 3 - by pressing fitting on connector in direction of Side Airbag Crash Sensor - 2 -.

-

Remove connector - 3 - from Side Airbag Crash Sensor - 2 -.

-

Remove bolts - 1 -.

-

Remove Side Airbag Crash Sensor - 2 -.

Installing

CAUTION:

-

Observe safety precautions for work on airbags.

Before handling airbag units (e.g. disconnecting electrical connector), the person handling it must "electrostatically discharge". This can
