Power Steering Pump: Testing and Inspection

Checking Delivery Pressure of Vane Pump, 6-Cylinder Gasoline

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

‹› Hose clamps up to dia. 25 mm (3094)

‹› Torque Wrench (V.A.G 1331)

‹› Power steering tester (V.A.G 1402)

‹› Adapter (V.A.G 1402/2)

‹› Adapter (V.A.G 1402/4)

‹› Adapter set (V.A.G 1402/6)

Test Prerequisites

‹› Ribbed belt/ribbed belt tension OK

‹› Sealing of system

‹› Hoses/lines are not kinked or constricted

Checking

-

With vehicles with air suspension, place vehicle on hoist. Refer to => [ Positioning Vehicle on Hoist and Wheels ] See: Suspension/Service and
Repair/Procedures/Positioning Vehicle on Hoist and Wheels.

CAUTION!
‹›  (3094) may not be secured on return hose in check valve area. Otherwise, check valve will be damaged.

‹› The check valve is located in the return hose between the hose clamps -  arrows -.

Check valve in return hose

Clamp off intake and return line in area of longmember with (3094).
