Steering Column Electronic Systems Control Module J527, Removing and Installing

Steering Column Electronic Systems Control Module J527, Removing And Installing

If control module is replaced, select corresponding control module in "Guided Functions".

Removing 

-

Remove Steering Column Switch Module (SCSM).

NOTE:  Steering must be in center position (wheels in straight ahead position) when removing and installing return spring with slip ring.

-

Carefully release retaining hooks - arrows -.

-

Remove airbag spring/spiral spring with slip ring - 2 - with Steering Angle Sensor G85 - item 1 - from Steering Column Switch Module (SCSM).

Remove screws - arrows - and remove Steering Column Electronic Systems Control Module J527 - item 1 - from steering column switch module.

Installing 

Install in reverse order, observing the following:

Make sure all retaining hooks and electrical connectors are properly engaged.

Install Steering Column Switch Module (SCSM).
If Steering Column Electronic Systems Control Module J527 was replaced, it must be recoded.

Tightening torques 

Steering Column Switch Module (SCSM) to Steering 
Column Electronic Systems Control Module J527: 0.65 Nm 

Windshield Wiper/Washer Switch E22 to Steering Column Electronic Systems Control Module J527: 0.65 Nm 

Cruise Control Switch E45 to Steering Column Electronic Systems Control Module J527: 0.65 Nm
