Seat Occupied Recognition Passenger Airbag Deactivation Seat Belt Latch

NOTE:  The passenger occupant detection system seat belt latch is only installed on the passenger seat.

CAUTION:

-

Replace the passenger occupant detection system seat belt latch each time the passenger belt tensioner deploys.

-

Observe safety precautions for work on airbags.

Removing

-

Remove front seat.

-

Disconnect clip on seat and wiring harness at connector - 2 - that leads to Seat Occupied Recognition Control Module J706 wiring harness.

Remove the screw - 4 - which secures seat belt latch - 1 - and remove the seat belt latch.

Installing

To install, perform the steps used in removal in reverse order. Observe the following when doing so:

CAUTION:  Observe safety precautions for work on airbags.

Ensure cable is secured in position - 3 -.

NOTE:  If the passenger occupant detection system seat belt latch is replaced, fill out the system registration sheet with the serial number and bar
code label from the new seat belt latch and send it to the importer.
