Loosen the retainers - E - on the connecting piece - B - by turning the thumb-wheel on the (T40072) - A -.

Carefully pry off the connecting element - B -.
‹› The lever - C - is constructed differently than the connecting piece - B - so it cannot be removed with the (T40072) (pry it out with a screwdriver if
necessary).
Installing
To installed, perform the steps done during removal in reverse order. Note the following:

Check the position of the mount - B - on the control motor shaft. It must be in the position shown.
‹› Only install the connecting element - A - in the position shown where it engages without forcing it in. If the connecting element can only be
installed with force, check if the mount - B - on the control motor shaft is turned 180°.
‹› If the mount - B - on the control motor shaft is not in the position shown, connect the control motor terminals 5 and 6 via a 5 A fuse to a 12V
battery using an adapter cable, refer to => [ Adapter Cable for Activating Control Motors ] See: Description and Operation/Adapter Cable For
Activating Control Motors or line from the Connector Test Set (V.A.G 1594C).
‹› Let the control motor turn until the mount - B - is in the position shown and the connecting element - A - can be installed without force. The
direction of rotation can be reversed by switch the plus and minus.
‹› The control motor shaft does not have a stop. It rotates continuously when voltage is applied to terminals 5 and 6.

Before installing the control motor, check the back pressure/fresh air door mount.

Install the connecting element - A - on the back pressure/fresh air door shaft if it was removed.
