1. Carefully pull off engine cover panel (Figure 14, 2). Do not jerk the cover panel away, and do not try to pull on one side only.
2. Unscrew filler cap for power steering reservoir on engine compartment trim (left-side).

3. Use small screwdriver (Figure 15, 1) to lift retaining spring (Figure 15, 2) and pull bottom end of gas strut off ball stud.
