Center console
Removing
-
Refer to coding on vehicles with encoded radio/radio navigation system (RNS); if necessary, interrogate.

Disconnect ground (GND) strap at battery with ignition switched off.

Vehicles with radio: Remove radio.
-
For vehicles with on-screen navigation system: Remove Control module for operating electronics, navigation J401.
-
Remove radio trim and storage compartment trim in front center section.
-
Remove center armrest.
-
Remove A/C Control Head E87.
-
Apply parking brake firmly.
-
In the case of an automatic transmission push selector lever fully back.
-
Remove caps - 4 - from bolts - 3 - on right and left of front footwell at side of center console.

Remove bolts - 3 - on right and left of front footwell at side of center console.

Remove parking brake lever handle.
-
Remove parking brake trim.
-
Pry out cover - 7 - from front.

Remove the two Phillips head screws - 9 - on connecting piece - 8 - and remove connecting piece. Otherwise the center console cannot be
pulled over the parking brake lever.

Manual transmission: Remove cover and boot.

Automatic gearbox: Pry gear cover off upward.

Remove front ashtray.
-
Remove two bolts - 5 - in ashtray opening.

Remove four bolts - 10 - around the gear lever, which secure the center console.

Disconnect connector for convertible-top actuation, cigarette lighter and/or navigation module.

Remove two bolts - 2 -.
-
Remove hex combi nut - 6 -.
-
Push center console carefully backward and remove from vehicle..
