‹› When loosening and tightening counter hold on the guide pin.

3 - Brake caliper housing

‹› Unclip the parking brake cable from the caliper. Refer to => [ Parking Brake Cables ] See: Parking Brake System/Parking Brake Cable/Service

and Repair.

‹› Fold upward to replace brake pads.

‹› Hose must be installed free of twists

‹› Do not disconnect the brake hose when changing the brake pads

4 - Brake pads

‹› Always replace both sides.

‹› Do not disconnect the brake hose when changing the brake pads

‹› To change the brake pads, only remove the lower brake caliper bolt, item 2, and fold caliper up.

‹› Removing and installing, refer to => [ Brake Pads, C41, C43, RS4 model 8EC, C43 ] See: Disc Brake System/Brake Pad/Service and

Repair/Rear/Brake Pads, C41, C43, RS4 model 8EC, C43. 

‹› Check brake pad thickness.

5 - Brake pad retaining spring

‹› Always replace when changing pads

6 - Wheel bolts

‹› Removing and installing the wheels. Refer to => Steering and Suspension See: Steering and Suspension

7 - Torx bolt

‹› Tightening specification: 5 Nm

8 - Brake rotor

‹› Always replace both sides.

‹› Remove the brake caliper prior to removing.

‹› Coat the contact surfaces between the brake disc and wheel hub with Polycarbamide grease (G 052 142 A2).

‹› Ensure sufficient wear limit

‹› Application, refer to => [ Rear Brake Specifications ] See: Specifications/Rear Brake Specifications.

‹› Thickness, refer to => [ Rear Brake Specifications ] See: Specifications/Rear Brake Specifications.

9 - Hex head bolt, 75 Nm

‹› M10 x 60

‹› Always replace.

10 - Brake carrier with guide pins and protective cap

‹› Supplied as replacement part assembled with sufficient grease on guide pins

‹› If the protective caps or guide pins are damaged use them from the repair kit. Use the supplied grease packet to lubricate the guide pins.

11 - Banjo bolt, 45 Nm
