Clamp off suction and return line with hose clamps up to 25 mm dia. 3094.

Remove noise insulation
Pressure hose is not removed at power steering pump to check delivery pressure. Connection of Power steering test unit V.A.G 1402 takes place at
line connection - arrow - at lower left of engine compartment.

Place drip pan V.A.G 1306 under separation point to collect escaping hydraulic oil.

Disconnect line connection - arrow -.

Install Power steering test unit V.A.G 1402 as shown in illustration.
