Drive Belt: Adjustments

Ribbed belt, checking alignment 

Check alignment of ribbed belt after replacing following components.

Vane pump for power steering

^

Air conditioner compressor

^

Bracket for vane pump and A/C compressor

Note:  To prevent damage to ribbed belt, belt alignment must be checked between A/C compressor and power steering vane pump.

Special tools and equipment

Aligning gauge 3201

^

Pin wrench 3212

Test sequence 
^

Lock carrier to service position, Refer to Body and Frame,Radiator Support, Service and Repair

^

Ribbed belt must be removed , Refer to Ribbed Belt, Removing and Installing

-

Unplug electrical connector -5- at Charge Air Pressure Sensor -G31-.

-

Loosen hose clamps -3- and -4-.

-

Pull off hoses at air recirculation valves.

-

Remove bolts -1- and -2- detach air intake pipe.
