Installing
-
Clean running and sealing surface. Seal bore must be clean and dry.

Insert assembly device T40048/1 onto pull sleeve T40048/2 and slide seal - 1 - onto pull sleeve.

Remove assembly device.
Engines with 70 mm crankshaft seal
-
Apply thin coat of Loctite 4204 adhesive around crankshaft seal bore.
CAUTION: After installing seal, adhesive must be allowed to dry for 1 hour before starting the engine. The seal position may be altered if the
adhesive is not allowed to dry.
Continued for all engines
CAUTION: Do NOT use Loctite adhesive on engines with a 72 mm crankshaft seal.

Insert pull sleeve T40048/2 on crankshaft and slide seal - 1 - into sealing surface on engine.
Note: Pull sleeve remains on crankshaft for pressing in.

Position pressure sleeve T40048/3 with bolts M855 mm - arrows - on crankshaft.

Tighten bolts by hand.

Tighten bolts each 1/2 turn by alternating sides to press in seal until it reaches stop.
The rest of the installation is performed in reverse order of removal, noting the following:
