09LA Transmission

Torque Converter Shaft Seal

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

‹› Extractor lever (VW 681)

‹› Thrust piece (T10137)

Procedure

-

Remove the transmission. Refer to: => [ Transmission, 2.0L TFSI ] , => [ Transmission, 3.2L FSI ] , => [ Transmission, 4.2L MPI ] See: Service
and Repair/Removal and Replacement.

Attach transmission to assembly stand. Refer to => [ Transmission, Securing to Assembly Stand ] See: Service and
Repair/Procedures/Transmission, Securing to Assembly Stand.

Carefully remove the torque converter.

-

Remove torque converter shaft seal with Extractor Lever (VW 681).

-

Apply ATF to circumference and sealing lips of oil seal.

‹› Installation position: The open side of the sealing ring faces the transmission.

Using Thrust Piece (T10137), drive in torque converter shaft seal as far as thrust piece stop.
