Secure final drive on a repair stand. Refer to => [ Securing Rear Final Drive to Assembly Fixture ] See: Service and Repair/Procedures/Rear Final
Drive 01R (01AA,01EA,02XA,0A3A,01V,01VA,09LA Transmission).

Install two M8 x 30 nuts - A -.

 B - Socket, long A/F 36

When nut is loosened the final drive must be supported (e.g. with universal transmission mounting (1359/2)in conjunction with engine and
transmission jack (VAG1383A)). 

Pulling flange for drive shaft off drive pinion

Install two M8 x 30 nuts - A - into the flange.
