Harmonic Balancer - Crankshaft Pulley: Service and Repair

Vibration Damper with Ribbed Belt Pulley

Removing

-

Remove fan shroud. Refer to => [ Fan Shroud ] See: Cooling System/Fan Shroud/Service and Repair.

Loosen vibration damper bolts - arrow - a few turns by counter-holding the open-end wrench on the generator ribbed belt pulley nut.

Remove ribbed belt. Refer to => [ Ribbed Belt ] See: Drive Belts, Mounts, Brackets and Accessories/Drive Belt/Service and Repair/Ribbed Belt.

Remove bolts - arrow - and remove the vibration damper along with the ribbed belt pulley.

Installing

‹› Tightening specifications => [ Vibration Damper with Ribbed Belt Pulley - Tightening Specification and sequence ] See: Drive Belts, Mounts,

Brackets and Accessories/Drive Belt/Service and Repair/Ribbed Belt Drive Assembly Overview

Installation is in reverse order of removal, note the following:

‹› Replace bolts which have been tightened to torque.

‹› The vibration damper can only be installed in one position => [ Vibration Damper with Ribbed Belt Pulley - Tightening Specification and

sequence ] See: Drive Belts, Mounts, Brackets and Accessories/Drive Belt/Service and Repair/Ribbed Belt Drive Assembly Overview.

Install ribbed belt. Refer to => [ Ribbed Belt ] See: Drive Belts, Mounts, Brackets and Accessories/Drive Belt/Service and Repair/Ribbed Belt.

Install fan shroud. Refer to => [ Fan Shroud ] See: Cooling System/Fan Shroud/Service and Repair.
