SAC Pressure Plate with Two-Disc Clutch

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

‹› Pressure plate (VW 402)

‹› Punch (VW 412)

‹› Thrust pad (VW 510)

‹› Alignment fixture (T10254/3)

‹› Thrust piece (T40089/2)

Removing

‹› The clutch module is removed => [ Clutch Module ] See: Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Clutch Module.

CAUTION!
The pressure plate and the dual mass flywheel could be damaged.

‹› Only remove and install the pressure plate - 1 - when it is pre-tensioned.

‹› Pressure plates that are not pre-tensioned will distort when loosening or tightening the bolts - 2 - and that leads to shuddering when

accelerating.

‹› The dual mass flywheel - 1 - must only be supported by the support ring - arrow A - when tensioning the pressure plate - 3 - in the hydraulic

press.

‹› If the dual mass flywheel is supported on the transfer plate - arrow B -, it will distort and be damaged. The dual mass flywheel must then

be replaced.
