Rear Wheel

Rear axle ABS components, removing and installing

Note:  Both ABS wheel speed sensor harness connectors are located under the rear seat bench.

1. Drive axle with ABS wheel speed sensor rotor. Outer CV joint will be supplied with rotor as replacement part. Before removing, pull wheel

speed sensor out slightly. After installing, press wheel speed sensor in by hand until seated.

2. Wiring guide. Do not pinch ABS wheel speed sensor wiring harness during installation.
3. Trapezoidal arm
4. Washer.

5. Nut. Tighten to 10 Nm (7 ft lb).
6. Bracket for ABS wheel speed sensor wiring harness. Attach to wheel bearing housing with mounting bolt for suspension strut.

7. ABS wheel speed sensor. Left and right side sensors are identical. Pull out to remove. Before installing, coat with brake assembly lube and then

push in by hand until seated.

8. Clamping sleeve, Before installing in wheel bearing housing, coat with brake assembly lube. Press into wheel housing until seated.
9. Self-locking nut. Always replace. Tighten to 90 Nm (66 ft lb).

WARNING;  Loosen or tighten self-locking nut -9- only when the vehicle is standing on its wheels. Risk of accident!

10. Bolt/washer assembly. Always replace. Tighten to 200 Nm (148 ft lb) plus additional 1/4-turn (90°).
11. Suspension strut. 
12. Wheel bearing housing.
