Drive Belt: Service and Repair
Exploded View

NOTE:   Exploded view shows version without air conditioner.

1 - Fan -"FRONT" marking on outer ring must point in direction of travel

2 - Viscous clutch

Switch-on temperature: 76°C + 4°C (169°F + 39°F) ambient temperature at viscous clutch

Tightening torque (to bearing 17): 20 Nm (15 ft lb) left-hand threaded.

3 - Ribbed belt - Mark direction of travel before removing with chalk or felt pen and observe when installing. Opposite direction of travel on

used belt leads to its destruction

4 - Torque to 20 Nm (15ft lb) 

5 - Hex flange - For turning engine by hand with open-end wrench (32 mm).

6 - Belt tensioner - To relieve tension on ribbed belt, swivel belt tensioner toward left side of vehicle with open-end wrench and secure with pin
