Air Filter Element: Service and Repair
Left Air Filter Insert, Cylinder Bank 2

Removing
-
Remove air guide hose between Mass Air Flow (MAF) Sensor 2 (G246) and Throttle Valve Control Module 2 (J544) by loosening hose clamps -
1 and 2 -.

Disconnect electrical harness connector from Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor 2 (G246).

Remove bolts - arrows -.
-
Remove upper section of air filter housing.

Remove air filter insert.
‹› Ensure no dirt enters air filter housing or MAF sensor.
Installing
Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal, noting the following.
For trouble-free function of the MAF sensor, it is important to observe the following notes and perform the work procedures exactly.
‹› In the event the air filter element is severely contaminated or completely saturated, dirt particles or moisture may penetrate the MAF sensor and
falsify the measured air mass value. This results in a reduction of power, since a lower injection quantity is calculated.
