Warnings and Safety Instructions For Lead Acid Batteries

Pay attention to the notes on the battery in the Electrical Equipment Repair Manual and in the operator's manual.

Danger of caustic burns:
Battery acid is very caustic, so wear protective gloves and eye protection.
Do not tilt the battery. Acid can come out of the vent openings.

Fire, sparks, open light, and smoking are prohibited:
Avoid producing sparks when handling cables and electrical devices.
Avoid short circuits.

Wear eye protection

Keep children away from acid and batteries.

Disposal:
Take old batteries to an approved collection point.

Never dispose of old batteries in household trash!

Danger of explosion:
Charging batteries produces a highly explosive oxygen/hydrogen gas mixture.
