Seals and Gaskets: Service and Repair
Double Sealing Ring In Drive Pinion, Replacing
Note:
On the left side of the intermediate flange there is an inspection hole for detection of oil leakage from the double sealing ring in the drive pinion and
the double sealing ring in the intermediate flange.
The following special tools are necessary for this work:
3403 - Thrust piece
3403/1 - Additional ring for thrust piece 3403
Removing

Remove distributor gear.

Remove front final drive intermediate flange .
^
Pull drive pinion off output shaft carefully.
CAUTION!
Gears which have fallen to the floor cannot be re-installed. The transmission must be replaced.

Drive double sealing ring out using suitable mandrel.
