Pry shaft sealing ring out at hole using mandrel -C-. 

Note:  Protect the housing surface with a pad -B- to prevent damage.

Remove cloth -A- and clean transmission thoroughly.

CAUTION!  No steel filings must enter the transmission or the opening for the drive shaft. Remove filings by suction, if necessary. 

If, when prying out, it was only possible to remove the metal ring of the shaft sealing ring:

Use screwdriver -A- to pry out remainder of shaft sealing ring.

Installing left flange shaft sealing ring 

Installation is in reverse order. Note the following:

Lightly lubricate outer circumference and sealing lips of sealing ring with ATF.

Installation position: open side of sealing ring faces transmission.

Install new sealing ring by hand, straight, and press in as far as possible so that shaft sealing ring is held in position in transmission housing.
