Fuel Pressure Sensor: Testing and Inspection

Fuel Pressure Sensor, Checking

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

‹› Assembly tool (T10118)

‹› Socket wrench insert 27 mm (VAS 5301/7)

‹› Pressure sensor tester (VAS 6394/1)

‹› Adapter (VAS 6394/2)

‹› Test adapter (VAS 5570)

‹› Torque Wrench (V.A.G 1331)

‹› Vehicle diagnostic, testing, and information system (VAS 5051B)

Work procedure:

Remove engine cover, refer to => [ Engine Cover ] See: Body and Frame/Access Cover/Service and Repair.

CAUTION!
Fuel system is under pressure! Fuel pressure must be reduced to a residual pressure before opening high pressure area of injection
system, refer to => [ Before Opening High Pressure Fuel Injection System ] See: Fuel Delivery and Air Induction/Fuel Filter/Fuel
Pressure Release/Service and Repair.

Remove Fuel Pressure Sensor (G247) => [ Fuel Pressure Sensor ] See: Fuel Delivery and Air Induction/Fuel Pressure Sensor/Switch/Service and
Repair.

In place of Fuel Pressure Sensor (G247) install the Adapter (VAS 6294/2) and tighten it using the tightening specification for the Fuel Pressure
Sensor ( G247).

Rail Assembly Overview

Open sealing plug - 2 - for the Digital Manometer (VAS 6394/1) and install the removed Fuel Pressure Sensor (G247) and tighten it.
