Air Bag Control Module: Service and Repair
Airbag Control Module J234, Removing And Installing
CAUTION: Always read updated safety regulations concerning replacement of safety components following an accident

Disconnect battery Ground (GND) strap.

Remove footwell vent and trim
-
Remove nuts - 2 - (3x).
-
Tightening torque 6 Nm
-
Take out control module - 1 -.
-
Press catch - 3 -.
-
Flick over retainer - 4 - at connector - 2 - in direction of arrow.
-
Pull connector - 2 - out of control module - 1 -.
-
Remove control module.
NOTE: Reenter coding if control module is replaced.

Switch ignition on.
CAUTION: Make sure there is no-one in the vehicle when connecting battery.

Close doors.

Connect battery Ground (GND) strap.
NOTE:

After connecting the battery, check vehicle equipment (radio, clock, electric windows)

If the Airbag Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) K75 signals a malfunction after assembling, then DTC memory must be erased and checked
again using vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system VAS 5051 A scan tool.
