Child Seat Anchor (LATCH System, "Lower Anchors And Tethers For CHildren"), Removing And Installing

Removing

CAUTION:

Observe safety precautions for work on airbags.

-

Before handling airbag units (e.g. disconnecting electrical connector), the person handling it must "electrostatically discharge". This can
be done by touching door striker, for example.

Remove front seat (passengers seat):
-

Mechanically adjustable front seat.

-

Electrically adjustable front seat.

-

Attach front seat to Fixture For Seat Repair VAS 6136.

-

Remove backrest:
-

Mechanically adjustable front seat

-

Electrically adjustable front seat.

-

Disengage retaining strips - 1 -, - 2 - and - 3 - on back of seat pan - 4 -.

-

Remove cover forward from LATCH system, "Lower Anchors and Tethers for CHildren" brackets.
Ensure cover does not tear at LATCH system, "Lower Anchors and Tethers for CHildren" bracket opening.
