Affected Vehicles

01 MIL on (DTCs for secondary air system)

Condition

-

Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) on.

-

One or more of the following DTCs are stored:

DTC P1424 (Secondary Air Injection System, Bank 1, Leak Detected Sporadic )

-

DTC P1414 (Secondary Air Injection System, Bank 2, Leak Detected Sporadic )

-

DTC P0491 (Secondary Air Injection System, Bank 1, Low Flow)

-

DTC P0492 (Secondary Air Injection System, Bank 2, Low Flow)

Technical Background

The check-valve ball inside the air filter housing (Figure 1, 2) of the secondary air injection pump -V101- (Figure 1, 1) may sporadically interrupt the
secondary air flow when operating and driven on poor roads and store DTCs

Production Solution

Check valve ball removed during vehicle production designated by a green dot on the filter housing.
