Impact Sensor: Service and Repair
Lateral Acceleration Sensor, Removing And Installing
NOTE:
-
A lateral acceleration sensor is installed under each of the front seats.
-
The two sensors are identical (arrow faces outward on installation).

Removing:
-
Disconnect battery Ground (GND) strap.
-
Remove front seat
-
Remove lower - A - pillar trim
-
Unclip sill panel trim on inside.
-
Lift carpeting around sensor.
-
Cut through cable tie - 4 -.
-
Unplug connector - 2 - for lateral acceleration sensor - 1 -.
-
Remove screws - 3 - (2x). Tightening torque 6 Nm
-
Remove lateral acceleration sensor - 1 -.
-
Installing:
-
Replace cable tie.
-
Switch ignition on.
CAUTION: Make sure no-one is in the vehicle when connecting battery.

Close doors.
-
Connect battery Ground (GND) strap.
NOTE:
-
After connecting the battery, check vehicle equipment (radio, clock, electric windows)
-
If the Airbag Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) K75 signals a malfunction after assembling, then DTC memory must be erased and
checked again using vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system VAS 5051 A scan tool.
