Wheel Bearing: Service and Repair

Notes:

NEVER put weight on wheel bearing when drive axle is removed.
-
If vehicle is resting on wheels and needs to be moved, drive axle must be installed in outer joint.
-
Welding and straightening work on supporting or wheel carrying components of the suspension is not permitted.
-
Always replace self - locking nuts.
-
Always replace corroded bolts/nuts.
1 - Socket - head bolts,
-
Tighten to 40 Nm
2 - Subframe
-
Removing and installing; Refer to Cross-Member
3 - Drive axle
-
Drive axle from wheel hub, pressing in and out
4 - Hex bolt M 12 x 1.5 x 80
-
Always replace
5 - Hex bolt M 12 x 1.5 x 75
-
Always replace
6 - Upper lateral control arm
-
Removing and installing; Refer to Control Arm
-
Allocate various versions refer to Parts Supplier
-
Removing and installing; Refer to Control Arm
7 - Upper bushing
-
Check rubber bushing for damage and tears
8 - Socket - head bolt
-
Tighten to 65 Nm
9 - Brake caliper
-
Servicing; Refer to Brakes and Traction Control
10 - Hex - bolt,
-
Tighten to 10 Nm
11 - Self - locking 12 - point nut
Observe Notes and go to Splines, Drive Axle/Wheel Hub.

Always replace
12 - Phillips - head screw,
