Battery testing using 5051/5051B/5052 scan tool & charging using Midtronics InCharge 940 (INC-940) charging station - Q7
Condition
Testing the battery for all 2007 2009 Audi Q7 models must be performed using the VAS 5051, 5051B, or 5052 scan tools.
Technical Background
Remote jumper posts for charging are located under the hood on the driver's side.

1.
Follow the battery test instructions in the Guided Functions (GF) or Guided Fault Finding (GFF) test program found under address word 61,
Battery control. To enter battery test plan:

Select GFF >> Go To >> Function/Component Selection >> Body >> Electrical Equipment >> 01-On Board Diagnostics >> 61-Battery,
control >> J644-Energy Management Ctrl. Mo., functions >> Battery, test.

The battery should be charged when installed and connected. This is the only means of ensuring charging content is taken into account in capacity
calculation of the Battery Energy Manager (BEM).

Using the Midtronics InCharge 940 (INC-940) Battery Charging Station, connect the positive and negative cables to the corresponding remote
jumper posts under the hood on the driver's side.
