Emissions Maintenance Light: Service and Repair

CAT - Catalytic Converter:

The warning light comes on for a bulb check when the ignition is switched on and goes out when the engine starts. If the warning light comes on when
driving, this indicates that the catalytic converters may be overheating due to an engine malfunction (in the ignition system).

Stop immediately, switch off the engine and let it cool down.

WARNING:

Due to the high temperatures generated by the catalytic converters, do not park or operate the vehicle in areas where the hot exhaust system
may come in contact with dry grass, brush, fuel spill or other material which can cause a fire.

Continue to the nearest Audi dealer with a light throttle The warning light must not come on again as otherwise the catalytic converters will be seriously
damaged by overheating.
