Throttle Cable/Linkage: Description and Operation

V-8 Accelerator Pedal, Throttle Cable And Linkage Assembly

The throttle is operated by a cable attached to the accelerator pedal. The effective length (and freeplay) of the cable can be adjusted by moving a
retaining clip which holds the sheath near the throttle body. Proper adjustment is essential for the correct operation of the throttle switches and
potentiometer (where used), as well as to insure full throttle opening when maximum power is demanded.
