Ignition Coil: Locations

V8-MOTRONIC Under Hood Component Layout

1.

AIR MASS SENSOR: Located on the top rear of the intake manifold

2.

CARBON CANISTER SHUT-OFF/FREQUENCY VALVE: Located on the inner fender, between the fender and the engine coolant reservoir.

3.

CONNECTOR BRACKET FOR ENGINE SENSORS: Located on the rear of the left side cyl. head.

A. Engine speed sensor connector.
B. Oxygen sensor connector.
C. Oxygen sensor heating element connector.
D. Crankshaft position (reference) sensor connector.

COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR (for engine management): Located on the rear of the right side cyl. head.

5.

COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR (for instrument panel temperature indicator): Located on the water outlet to the radiator, front of left
side cyl. head.

6.

CRANKSHAFT POSITION (REFERENCE) SENSOR: Located on the left rear of the engine block where the engine and transmission meet,
along with the engine speed sensor.

7.

ENGINE SPEED SENSOR: Located on the left rear of the engine block where the engine and transmission meet, along with the crankshaft
position sensor.
